Do I need a monthly subscription?

No. Captionate is credit based. You only pay for caption generation and translation work you run.

How is caption generation calculated?

It is calculated from the media duration processed at $0.006 per minute, equivalent to $0.36 per hour.

Why can translation cost vary?

Languages and writing styles use different numbers of tokens. Context and custom translation notes also contribute to input usage.

Is the displayed translation cost the final charge?

Yes. The cost shown before submission is the amount deducted after the translation completes successfully.
